As an artist and creative I am inspired by nature, materiality, and emotion. The world around us has so much to offer in textures and in color. Ultimately nature is my largest inspiration, providing a connection between the most minute and most expansive ideas. Natural materials are a large interest of mine. I am inspired by color, which provides a specific feeling and emotion in my work. The specific colors found within the natural world and the human body often provide inspiration for dye and color stories. To capture the encompassing beauty of nature through film is daunting and rewarding. The past and memory also serve as interests of mine in creating feelings like nostalgia through the use of photographs. Combined with the tactile exploration of fibers, this is an emotive and contemplative space that allows for full surrender to personal experience and perception.
